Beyond the words: My passions and pursuits

When I was working I spent my summer holidays taking up new challenges, some of which I still continue.

While writing fills much of my time, I also love to explore a variety of other interests. These hobbies offer a glimpse into my creative side and the things that inspire me. Come and discover what I get up to when I am not crafting stories.

Arts and crafts: A stroke of creativity

My artistic pursuits extend beyond the written word. I love getting lost in watercolour painting, and other mediums, crafting unique pieces of jewellery, and even designing my own book covers.

My sporting life

In my youth, I was a keen footballer and hockey player, reaching a quite high standard in both sports. I have been a devoted supporter of Bristol Rovers FC since 1966, through thick and thin. Nowadays, I enjoy a more relaxed pace on the lawn bowls green, playing for Henleaze Bowling Club, becoming Ladies Champion one year. I also had the privilege of being Club President for two years.

I have also been picked for Gloucestershire County bowls.

Singing: A joyful harmony for the soul

Singing is truly good for the soul and incredibly uplifting. As a member of the Frenchay Foxes Women’s Community Choir, I love being part of a group that creates such beautiful harmony. I’ve even had the pleasure of arranging some of the songs we sing, adding my own creative touch to our performances.
